Be what tomorrow needs.

Courtnee from 2008.

Desirae from 2008.
I've noticed, from looking back, that my favorite pictures tend to be one featuring children. I've said it before, but it's just this innocence about them. These two are possibly my favorite to photograph anymore. Haylee has reached this age of independence and a mind of her own, and often gets testy with me when we do a photoshoot for too long, but these two. These two are so willing and easy to agree with. Courtnee is starting to get her own ideas, but she's a lot more workable than Haylee.
I've never really thought myself of a good photographer. It's what I want to do, yes, but I feel like I'm not worthy of people liking my work, but when my sister likes, I feel all powerful and amazing. I love it when she'll ask me to do her family photos and all of that, because I feel like she knows she could go elsewhere and get probably better prints, but she picks me. And she whores me out to her friends, who pay me. So it's a win-win, haha.

And now I'm craving a photoshoot with my nieces and I can't because of finals. I actually had to shut down my facebook and tumblr so I would be productive, and it worked. I wrote my 1000 word essay on Frank Lloyd Wright and design for Art History of Design, and I studied for Math. Of which, I'M GOING TO PASS MATH! You have no idea how this excites me, I'm such a typical right brained person, I suck at logical studies, but do excellent in those more geared to right brained people. But now that I post this, I must start sketching up how I want to brand myself and study some more for French and Math. My Art History final is take-home. :D

Mistakes.

Taken in the Washington Pavilion.
Sometimes I feel the best photos are the close-ups where you can’t distinguish what’s actually supposed to be in the photo. Sometimes the best photos are the mistakes before the “masterpiece.”
Just like sometimes photos of faceless people are better than pictures of people with faces. Though I love this photo, I enjoy it’s zoomed-out version more, I just felt like this should get recognition as well.
Replica of DNA in the Washington Pavilion
This would be the zoomed out version of the last photo. I’ve decided to group, hopefully, photos from the same period in one day and those will be my posts for the day/week depending how often I remember to update this.

Courtnee at the Washington Pavilion.
It’s not the best photo, it’s grainy and cropped horribly, but her face is what makes this photo one of my favorites. I can never get over the expression of her face, how full of innocence it is, yet there is a mischievous expression as well.

Last photo of tonight. I’m going to keep my thoughts on this one mysterious.

First post! Ah.

From the age of five, when I got my first hand-me down film camera, I’ve been snapping pictures of everything. I sucked, horribly, in the beginning [and a part of me still believes I suck today] but I’ve never done anything else. It’s the most comfortable feeling to me, to be behind a camera snapping memories. And because it’s all I know, it’s all I want to do and have since that day.
I’m currently going to school to become a professional photographer, and it may not be the best life choice realistically, but for me I think it is.
I started this blog with the intention of using it once I begin my 365day project on my 22nd birthday, but I’ve decided to open it now to be comfortable enough to share this project. Photography is the most personal art, in my opinion. We capture people’s souls through a tiny box and impart it to the world. And a lot of it is our own soul portrayed through models and forms we capture. [Though I may just think that because it’s my favorite art form.]
Over the next month and a half I will post old photos and semi-personal blog posts hopefully every day, but no less than once a week. And on January 19th, I will start the 365day project.
This is my first post, and it’s the oldest photo I currently have on my computer. It’s from 2008 and it’s of my niece Desi[a lot of my photos feature my nieces. I have three] climbing up the stairs. It’s always been a favorite, the way she has an innocence about her, climbing up these, to her, monstrous steps.
