First post! Ah.

From the age of five, when I got my first hand-me down film camera, I’ve been snapping pictures of everything. I sucked, horribly, in the beginning [and a part of me still believes I suck today] but I’ve never done anything else. It’s the most comfortable feeling to me, to be behind a camera snapping memories. And because it’s all I know, it’s all I want to do and have since that day.
I’m currently going to school to become a professional photographer, and it may not be the best life choice realistically, but for me I think it is.
I started this blog with the intention of using it once I begin my 365day project on my 22nd birthday, but I’ve decided to open it now to be comfortable enough to share this project. Photography is the most personal art, in my opinion. We capture people’s souls through a tiny box and impart it to the world. And a lot of it is our own soul portrayed through models and forms we capture. [Though I may just think that because it’s my favorite art form.]
Over the next month and a half I will post old photos and semi-personal blog posts hopefully every day, but no less than once a week. And on January 19th, I will start the 365day project.
This is my first post, and it’s the oldest photo I currently have on my computer. It’s from 2008 and it’s of my niece Desi[a lot of my photos feature my nieces. I have three] climbing up the stairs. It’s always been a favorite, the way she has an innocence about her, climbing up these, to her, monstrous steps.
